Rose Carrigan, LICSW

Clinician

Accepting Cigna, Aetna, Optum, United and UMR insurances and soon will take Harvard Pilgrim, Tufts and Anthem/BCBS

Rose a Licensed Clinical Social Work in New Hampshire. She specializes in treating trauma, including developmental trauma and Complex PTSD. As a therapist with Autism and ADHD, she understands firsthand how trauma can be complicated by neurodivergence and why working with a professional who understands this is crucial to effective healing for those who are neurodivergent themselves.

She approaches therapy as a collaborative process where her clients are the expert on their experience. Your psyche, nervous system, and body already know what you need to heal. She is there to serve as a facilitator and interpreter as you learn to trust what they're communicating.

Rose believes effectively healing from trauma involves working with the mind-body connection. She is trained in EMDR and the Safe and Sound audio healing protocol. She utilizes principles and resources from Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, as well as a general psychodynamic approach. Her undergraduate education includes an associate degree in animal science, and she is also trained in equine facilitated psychotherapy. Therapy with Rose is unique to you as an individual and your nervous system. Generally, it consists of psychoeducation, learning of coping skills tailored to your nervous system, and processing of whatever material is agreed to be helpful or that reveals itself during your process.

She works with adults, especially those looking to heal from childhood trauma, but welcomes clients who have a variety of diagnoses and life circumstances they're seeking support for. Her experience includes working with clients who are BIPOC and part of the LBGTQ community, and she recognizes that these populations have unique considerations when searching for a therapist they feel comfortable with. Rose has over a decade of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, hospital and community crisis work, and public health social work.
